We're looking for a highly intelligent, highly motivated engineer to join our Infrastructure and Operations team. You'll be working with every other team at Ooyala, taking their projects from alpha to full deployment. You'll experiment with bleeding-edge distributed software, building new services and architectures for others to use, and you'll be able to flex your code and configuration tweaking abilities to make our services fly for millions of customers.

Responsibilities

* Will work with many common and not-so-common open-source technologies
* Will manage high-traffic, high-availability web services
* Will design, implement, and maintain large-scale distributed services
* Keep a cool head under (system) fire
* Handle regular on-call duty

Requirements

* BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related discipline
* 3+ years Linux/Unix system administration experience
* Excellent understanding of web concepts and technologies (HTTP, server/client, proxies, caching, etc)
* Fluent in two or more of Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, Shell scripting
* Fluent in one or more of C, C++, Java
* A Linux/Unix commandline ninja
* Excellent communication skills
* Familiarity with large-scale distributed computing concepts and software a plus
* SQL familiarity a plus
